What is Jojoba Oil?

Jojoba Oil (Pronounced ho-ho-ba) is a  luscious oil that is highly nourishing and can be used head to toe.  It is an essential product that has many uses and is highly beneficial for both the hair and skin. Jojoba Oil is derived from from the plant Simmondsia Chinensis which is native of Arizona, desert California and New Mexico. For many years this oil has been highly valued by the Native Americans of the Sonoran Desert as a potent balm for skin ailments and a skin restorer. Jojoba is a liquid wax ester, that matches our skin's natural oils, which means your skin allows it to penetrate deeper to nourish and heal. Jojoba oil has the same molecular structure as the sebum on our skin. Sebum is the wax ester on skin that helps you to stay youthful by preventing and filling out wrinkles and lines. Because it is so similar to our skin’s natural sebum, it is able to penetrate and moisturise more deeply. It is also an antibacterial and antiviral oil that makes it a superstar when it comes to fighting acne.

 Jojoba oil is high in Omega 3 and 6 and vitamins A, D and E. It is also remarkable for sensitive skin as it is very soothing and hydrating. Jojoba is naturally anti-inflammatory and quenches the thirst of dry, scaly skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. It is naturally hypoallergenic and non-pore clogging and is rich in vitamins, antioxidants and omegas. Jojoba maintains healthy and glowing skin.

Application:

FOR FACE AND BODY

·      Apply 1-2 drops of jojoba directly to the affected area and gently massage until absorbed.

·      Use twice daily or more often as required

·      A few drops can be added to your existing moisturiser for extra nourishment.

·      Can be used as a facial oil, applied after serums and prior to your moisturiser.

·      Apply to lips as a protectant

·      Apply to the skin to soothe and calm redness and irritated skin.

·      Add a few drops to your bath

·      Use as a rich nourishing massage oil

·      Add to your face mask for added moisturisation

·      Add some Jojoba to a cotton pad and use to remove makeup and cleanse the skin. Jojoba makes a wonderful cleansing oil as it mimics the healthy natural oils our skin produces.

·      Can be used for dry skin conditions such as cradle cap

·      Perfect for massaging into dry nails and cuticles

FOR HAIR AND SCALP

·      Can be massaged into the scalp to combat a dry scalp and dandruff

·      For hair, apply a couple of drops for shine and moisture. Leave in. Jojoba is incredibly nourishing for the hair and scalp as it brings hydration, increases shine and prevents split ends and damage. Jojoba can also help to control dandruff, maintain the oil production in the scalp and reduce frizz and flyaways.

·      Massage into the scalp to promote hair growth

·      Add a few drops to your conditioner for added hydration

·       Can also be applied to the hair and scalp more generously as an intensive treatment and left in for 30 minutes or overnight. Rinse, Shampoo and condition.

·      Apply to mid-lengths to ends of dry or damp hair as a rich moisturising hair serum.

·      Use as a beard oil
